Photos from our Overnight journey

It began at Seattle Center. Here we are at the opening ceremony as it starts to rain. (L to R: Brycen, me, Dad and Mom)

My amazing parents, aren’t they cute? (I’m not biased)

Brycen & me, we’re cute too! (Again, totally not biased)

A quick bite to carbo-load before the walk. Here are Mom & Dad’s glow-in-the-dark shirts; up all night for Evan Jacob Schwantner.

Brycen’s shirt; up all night for Evan Schwantner, Miles Fox, Jamie Crawford and everyone who struggles.

My tie-dye shirt; up all night for Evan Schwantner, Lauren Ariel Hill and Jose & Amid Torres.

This is the luminary that Dad made. Our other luminaries were ruined by the rain making them difficult to find. When we finally found them, we tried not to be discouraged about their condition. Instead, we draped our honor beads over the wet luminaries and left them under the Space Needle. The sun would rise on them and bring suicide prevention and awareness out of the darkness.

Having coffee at the closing ceremony. We were searching for coffee at every check point along the route, but finally found it at the end. Brycen has 18 glow sticks on his chest here. He added one glow stick for each mile we completed. He’s the greatest.

The weekend before the walk, we had a funny hat party to raise money. Thanks to the generosity of our friends and family, we exceeded our goal!
